My name is Caro(pictured left). I am married with three children. I love my work because this business does well. It sustains my family and me. The restaurant is close to Kenyatta Hospital on Hospital Road. I started it back in 2013. It was not easy getting started back then because I had to queue at supermarkets to get what I needed to prepare food. The queues were long at times. If the stock ran out, I would have to go through the process all over again. Old suppliers also insisted on cash payments, and it was always a hassle getting things delivered consistently to where I worked at the exact time when I needed to resupply. We used to have run-ins with the local authorities as well.

Kibanda Topup has helped turn things around. Kibanda Topup has made it easy because of how reliable it is. They deliver everything when they say they will. If it's 6 AM, it's 6 AM. Their drivers bring the products I order to my restaurant on time and at no extra delivery cost. We likewise have the right licenses and package our food according to legal requirements so there are no problems with local authorities.

Cash can be tight on some days and I need extra supplies to sell more. Kibanda Topup allows me to sell first then pay later in the day using their till number (read on our working capital loans).

Since I operate close to the hospital, people are here 24 hours a day. But I can’t be here all the time. So I get here at 5 AM, get the food ready by 7 AM and close by 7 PM. People here really love my chapatis with beans, ndengu (peas), meat, or matumbo(tripe). This is still a roadside restaurant. However, once I get the money, I would like to make the business a lot bigger and move to a permanent location.
